The West Riding & Craven diabetic eye screening programme screens patients for diabetic retinopathy in Bradford & Airedale.
Diabetic eye screening services are merging together to run as a larger unified programme. On 1 April 2017, the Bradford & Airedale, Calderdale & South Kirklees Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes (DESP) and the Craven area of the North Yorkshire & York DESP are merged to create the West Riding & Craven Diabetic Eye Screening Programme.

Ramadan and Diabetic Eye Screening
During the month of Ramadan there is usually a drop in Muslim Diabetics attending their annual Retinal Screening.
The advice from the Muslim Council of Britain is that eye drops are permissible when fasting.
