Meet David and Harpreet

David and Harpreet are the Co Chairs of Bradford LOC and together they represent the very best of independent optometry.

David is a true pillar of the profession. With over 30 years as an independent practice owner, he brings depth of experience, perspective and a genuine passion for representing opticians and qualified professionals across our local area.

Alongside him is Harpreet, our Co Chair. Nearly 15 years qualified, she has worked extensively within the community with passion, skill and strong clinical leadership. She has led large clinical teams of optometrists, supporting and managing almost eight optometrists at one point in her career. She is knowledgeable, dedicated and an incredible advocate for high quality patient care.

Together, they advocate for our local community of opticians and qualified professionals, ensuring our voices are heard and our standards are protected.

At Bradford LOC, we stand for more than policy and paperwork.
We stand for local practitioners.
We stand for independence, collaboration and quality patient care.
We stand for supporting one another, sharing knowledge and strengthening optometry at a grassroots level.

We are here not just for the profession, but for the people within it. The practices, the teams and the communities we serve every day.

Let’s change the world.
Well, on a local level anyway 😉

With leadership like this, Bradford LOC is moving confidently in the right direction.

ROUTINE REFERRALS UPDATE.

At the start of the COVID 19 pandemic, we asked you all not to send any Routine Referrals. Thank you for your assistance with this, as this greatly helped our local eye department.

As of last week , GP’s are now able to send routine referrals to the Eye Department at the Bradford Royal Infirmary. So I would encourage you to now send any referrals that you had been holding onto over the last few months.

However there are still significant limitations to the services that can be offered by the Eye Department. In addition there is likely going to be a longer wait for the patient to be seen by the Eye Department. As such it would be most helpful if you could inform any patient that you are referring that there will likely be a longer wait to be seen. I’m hoping to get more information regarding this in due course.

Please note the above guidance relates to the Eye Department at the Bradford Royal Infirmary. A number of other ophthalmic providers in this area have also started accepting routine referrals. However I would advise you to check with the individual provider regarding their timescales and services offered.

Kind Regards

Bradford LOC
