Retinal Vein Occlusion
Local BRI Ophthalmology Guidelines for retinal vein occlusion referrals
- RVO Affecting the macula- either temporal arcades or CRVO/HRVO should be referred to the Acute Referral Clinic (ARC – Please phone BRI Ophthalmology)
- Any RVOnot affecting the macula (i.e. nasal RVOs) can be sent via EyeV.
- In all cases, it is good practice to inform the GP to check the patient’s cardiovascular risk factors, BP, diabetes, etc. Please also inform that you have made the onward referral to secondary care.
